VGR employees are also eager to contribute into environmental protection and second year in a row organize themselves for cleaning day. In 2021 in 21st of May employees of VGR Logistics department took part in the cleaning day in the nearest forest in Kaluga region. As a result more than 100 sacks of wastes were collected and disposed in a correct way.

Rapid cold resistance testing by students | Volkswagen Group Rus | Education and science
In February 2021 the cold testing of the vehicles was carried out during which the management of Kaluga plant visited Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk (hereinafter – SFU). As a result, management of VGR provided Rapid car with absent VIN number to SFU for educational purposes.

Road safety for school students | ŠKODA | Road safety education
At the start of each school year, from September to October, ŠKODA joins forces with its dealers in Russia to run ŠKODA Krokha, a nationwide road-safety project for children aged 7 to 10 years. Launched in 2011, the initiative includes information events presented in entertaining ways, plus an additional online element to teach children about the Highway Code and safe road behavior. In 2021 Dealers presented new educational format “Young driver school”, that is similar to regular auto-school (theoretical, practical). In 2021, around 4562 children, whereof 2309 were from Russia attended road-safety classes and learned about correct behavior in road situations as part of the project. All occasions were conducted with fulfilment all necessary sanitary requirements.

Sponsoring Junior Ice hockey | ŠKODA | Sport
ŠKODA AUTO Russia has extended the company’s partnership and cooperation with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation and National Ice Hockey Team to include active support for junior ice hockey. The ŠKODA Junior International Hockey Cup is a major international tournament for 12-year-old athletes from all over Russia and other countries, aiming to promote sporting activities for children and young people. In 2020, the project wasn’t realized due to Covid-19. In 2021 the project took place in Ufa. The ambassador of the Cup is the legend ice hockey player Pavel Datsuk.

UNI Vorlesung | Volkswagen Group Rus | Education and science
VGR employees from logistics department have organized lections on ecological responsibility and wastes separate disposal in MSTU N. Baumana in Kaluga. Together with students they have also generated social eco-projects, that can be implemented in Kaluga city.

Vehicles for SOS Children’s Villages | ŠKODA | Equal opportunities
ŠKODA AUTO Russia is part of Volkswagen Group Russia, and has been supporting the well-known charity SOS Children’s Villages since 2011. The charity currently uses 13 ŠKODA cars – KAROQ and KODIAQ models and one VW Crafter – in the different territories in which it has a presence; the vehicles give charity staff the mobility they need to travel around such a large country, the vehicles are also used for regular Village’s needs. Bringing children to school, to a doctor, for excursions – that is the main purpose of available cars. Cars remain in the ownership of VGR; ŠKODA provides each Children’s Village with a car for one year, and at the end of the year, either refurbishes or replaces the vehicle. Whenever a new generation of the model is present, the cars are replaced in order to display the actual model range of the brand. All cars bear the logos of ŠKODA and SOS Children’s Villages.

VGR helps against COVID-19 | Volkswagen Group Rus | Regional support
In the light of COVID-19 rising cases VGR decided to offer addressed help to Kaluga region. As a result 2 medical facilities in Kozelsk and Maloyaroslavets were provided with Skoda Karoq and VW Polo (by 2 each). Their main purpose was to transport doctors visiting patients at home. Thanks to our cars, doctors can fast and safely reach patients with COVID-19 in distant areas.

Project of Volkswagen Russia Passenger Cars/Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Children’s hospice develops a mobile palliative care network for children who cannot stay in hospitals. Mobile teams of doctors provide assistance directly at home with help of provided POLO in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Orel regions.
