Good corporate citizenship is a natural and essential part of the company’s role in a large country like Russia. In 2020, the company made efforts to continue the implementation of long-term projects and to support ad hoc projects in healthcare amid the pandemic.


Volkswagen Group Russia consistently supports projects in the field of road safety, sports expansion and development of mobility of charitable assistance.

Charitable assistance mobility and support of hospices

Brands combine efforts to develop a nationwide network of mobile services for seriously ill children.

Project of Volkswagen Russia Passenger Cars/Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and Children’s hospice develops a mobile palliative care network for children who cannot stay in hospitals. Mobile teams of doctors provide assistance directly at home with help of provided Polo and Caravelle in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Orel regions.

ŠKODA AUTO Russia since 2011 has been likewise supporting the well-known charity “SOS Children’s Villages”. Charity organization currently uses 13 OCTAVIA and KODIAQ cars in different regions of presence, which will significantly increase the number of children receiving much-needed help for them and their families.

Support during COVID-19 pandemic

Volkswagen Group Rus helps several medical organizations during the pandemic. 18 Audi passenger cars and 1 VW Caravelle have been provided to the staff of hospital in Communarka (the main Moscow hospital for patients with coronavirus). Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brand has also provided 2 cars to the “Russian Red Cross” to help with medicine and food deliveries. Carsharing company Delimobil and Volkswagen brand have joined the all-Russian volunteer campaign with Volkswagen Polo vehicles to supply medicine and food to citizens from the risk groups, who stayed in isolation during the lockdown.

The infectious diseases hospital in Kaluga region experiencing a lack of protective equipment was provided with protective suits which are used in paint shop on Kaluga plant.

Road Safety for Schoolchildren

At the start of each school year, from September to October, ŠKODA AUTO Russia joins forces with its dealers in Russia to run ŠKODA Krokha, a nationwide road-safety project for children aged 7 to 10 years. Launched in 2011, the initiative includes information events presented in entertaining ways, plus an additional online element to teach children about the Highway Code and safe road behavior. In 2020, around 1031 children from 17 cities in Russia attended road-safety classes and learned about correct behavior in road situations as part of the project.
