Update for user choosers

Die Vorteile

Fleets are increasingly looking to SUVs – and no surprise, since the vehicles in this segment are more popular than ever worldwide. With the new T-Roc, Volkswagen is now introducing a fresh take on its compact crossover model onto the market. Customers will have a choice of five engines for the sales launch and can expect an enhanced exterior design as well as newly crafted interior.

Vehicle images show special equipment.

The SUV segment is extremely popular – and on a global scale, too. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), sports and outdoor adventure models accounted for more than 45 per cent of new registrations in 2021.¹⁾ In Europe alone, more than 7.3 million vehicles were registered.¹⁾ Hardly surprising, therefore, that the demand is also rising in fleets. So it is good news then that the Volkswagen brand is expanding its SUV offering in a number of markets. In addition to new vehicles – for example from the electric ID. family – this includes enhancements of popular models, such as the new T-Roc, which is available to order straight away.

Entry-level model for user choosers
Among the compact SUVs, the T-Roc has proven to be a popular model since its introduction in 2017 – a fact clearly borne out by its sales figures, with more than one million units having hit the roads so far. And there are good reasons for this success, which are obvious even at first glance: the new T-Roc looks good. It shows strength of character. And it can set fresh accents in the fleet – especially in its current enhancement. That’s because there are eight attractive paint finishes to choose from, which can be combined if desired with one of three roof colours. This means a host of attractive individualisation options for prospective user choosers and companies.

On closer inspection: the inner values
The compact SUV is also sure to impress at second glance though, particularly in the interior. The new T-Roc has likewise been upgraded with the same care and attention following its redesign, for example, with a soft dash panel surface and standard Digital Cockpit as well as larger infotainment display of up to 23.4 cm (9.2 inches). Drivers therefore have a clear view of all that is happening, which can be especially important for concentration on longer or demanding stretches of road.

Business travellers gain, too, because the new T-Roc has numerous advanced assist systems, which were previously only available in higher vehicle classes. Front Assist and Lane Assist come as standard, while new features include the optional IQ.DRIVE Travel Assist and ACC predictive cruise control – configurable as standard in the Style and R-Line specification packages – which enables assisted driving up to 210 km/h within the limits of the system. The range of functions of the optional Side Assist system has also been extended as well as that of Park Assist, which comes as standard from the Life specification package upwards and which can now also be used to drive into parking bays and out of parallel parking spaces (within the limits of the system).

Better visibility with IQ.LIGHT
The optionally configurable IQ.LIGHT is a real highlight on the road. Its LED matrix headlights ensure good visibility, whether during the day, at night or in bad weather. Dynamic Light Assist helps within the limits of the system to predictively illuminate winding stretches without dazzling oncoming traffic even when using main beams, while the individual LED segments of the high-tech lighting system ensure better light distribution as they are switched on and off selectively depending on the driving situation.

A glance beneath the bonnet
Three petrol and two diesel engines are available for the sales launch of the new T-Roc. Depending on the drive system, they are combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG). In addition, the 4MOTION all-wheel drive is also available for especially effortless power transmission – partly even as standard equipment. A successful enhancement, therefore, that definitely warrants a closer look by fleet managers and company car drivers.

Availability and specifications may vary from country to country. Therefore, it is recommended to check with local sales representatives or dealers before final order.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data have been determined according to the measurement procedures prescribed by law. Since 1st September 2017, certain new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. Starting on September 1st 2018, the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) will be replaced by the WLTP in stages. Owing to the more realistic test conditions, the fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions measured according to the WLTP will, in many cases, be higher than those measured according to the NEDC. Therefore, the usage of CO₂ emission values measured according to WLTP for vehicle taxation from 1st September 2018 on can cause changes in this regards as well. For further information on the differences between the WLTP and NEDC, please visit https://www.volkswagen.de/wltp.

We are currently still required by law to state the NEDC figures. In the case of new vehicles which have been type-approved according to the WLTP, the NEDC figures are derived from the WLTP data. It is possible to specify the WLTP figures voluntarily in addition until such time as this is required by law. In cases where the NEDC figures are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering. They are intended  exclusively as a means of comparison between different vehicle types. Additional equipment and accessories (e.g. add-on parts, different tire formats, etc.) may change the relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, and, in conjunction with weather and traffic conditions and individual driving style, may affect fuel consumption, electrical power consumption, CO₂ emissions and the performance figures for the vehicle.

Further information on official fuel consumption figures and the official specific CO₂ emissions of new passenger cars can be found in the “Guide on the fuel economy, CO₂ emissions and power consumption of new passenger car models”, which is available free of charge at all sales dealerships and from DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, D-73760 Ostfildern, Germany and at www.dat.de.
